Kerner & Merchant can make your vintage organ perform like new again.

A Restored Home Organ from the 1820s by an Anonymous Builder       Our loving restorations of vintage instruments include the Holtkamp at Syracuse University's Hendricks Chapel and one of the oldest extant Johnson pipe organs, an 1855 instrument housed in the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Syracuse. We faithfully observe the guidelines established by the Organ Historical Society.
Our "new from old" rebuilding employs former organs or their major parts in constructing essentially new instruments in new locations. Upscale expansions and rebuilds of existing instruments retain the spirit and essence of installations by other organ builders and enhance them with new pipework, remodeled components, and other improvements. Kerner & Merchant restoration and rebuilding activities include the following:

  • Releathering of windchests and reservoirs
  • Refurbishing of tracker and electrical systems
  • Rebuilding of pipework
  • Refurbishing or replacement of console
